Another historical romance comes to life as the novel by author Zhi Zhi entitled Rebirth For You 嘉南传, previously 慕南枝, gets its very own drama adaptation. As the title suggests, the 48 episode long series narrates how Jiang Baoning attempts to change history after being reborn. And like the saying “behind every successful man is a strong woman”, the drama’s heroine Jiang Baoning relies on her own strength to outwit the various forces at play in the imperial court and find happiness with Li Qian.
Actress Ju Jingyi who currently has an ongoing drama in opposite stars in another costumed historical to play Jiang Baoning. In her previous life, she presided over the imperial court as empress and later on as dowager empress before being assassinated by her own stepson. Reborn unexpectedly into her younger self, Jiang Baoning strives to make sure the events of her past life won’t happen again – the first of which is to ensure she never marries the emperor again.
Meanwhile, Joseph Zeng Shun plays Li Qian. The son of a general, Jiang Baoning hated him in her past life. However, in the course of working together to uncover the truth, they both gradually fall in love. The two eventually marry, but not without the machinations of the imperial court further complicating their life.
As for the rest of the cast, actor Wang Zhuocheng who you might remember playing Jiang Cheng in nabs a supporting role in this drama. As Zhao Xiao, he is born into the royal family and is one of the suitors in love with Jiang Baoning. You can also expect to see Wang Yiting playing Li Qian’s half sister Li Dongzhi, Li Yizhen as Gao Miaorong, Li Yunrui as Qing An with veterans Cao Cuifen Yvonne Yung Hung Huang Haibing also making appearances.
